Past Events

Footscray Community Arts Centre, Extreme Arts School Holiday Program

We were lucky enough to jump on board twice with the FCAC School Holiday Program in 2019, in April and July. In the most recent workshop, we explored the dichotomy between natural and mechanical sounds, creating a composition using everyday sounds reimagined with music technology.

Art Gallery of South Australia, START Day

On Sunday the 3rd of February 2019 we joined the Art Gallery for their monthly START day of children’s activities. We ran an interactive sound installation, with over 900 children passing through and experimenting with our instruments.

Melbourne Recital Centre, Music Play Festival

We ran three music workshops titled “You Can Write a Song” at the 2019 festival. In each session we guided children to write and record a song using professional recording equipment and a range of analogue synthesisers. We helped them develop their own lyrics, and perform together as a group.

Sunrise Preschool, Storybook Scoring

Supported by a grant from the IgniteLAB Creativity Fund, we composed a score to “The Artist who Painted a Blue Horse” by Eric Carle over the course of several weeks in September 2018 with children at Sunrise Preschool in North Fitzroy.

Abbotsford Convent, School Holiday Program

Supported by a grant from the IgniteLAB Creativity Fund we ran a two week long school holiday program in July 2018. Workshops ran every morning and afternoon, with a focus on the art of improvisation and composing using graphic scoring methods.

Clifton Child Care Co-op, Pilot Project

In early 2018, we spent time developing the activities that now form the foundation of our workshops and installations with the children at Clifton Child Care Co-op.
